How to Play It

To play it, rest the bowl flat on an open palm or a cushion, then run the wooden striker firmly and slowly around the outer rim in a continuous circular motion (rather than striking it) until the tone builds and sustains. You can also strike the rim gently once to produce a single resonant tone as a meditation timer or transition bell. It typically takes a little practice to find the right pressure and speed for a clean, sustained sound.

Metal & Craftsmanship

Made from a traditional metal alloy blend, hand hammered and finished rather than machine cast, which is why tone and resonance vary slightly bowl to bowl, genuinely handmade pieces are never perfectly identical.

Size & Care

Diameter is approximately 10.7cm. Larger bowls generally produce a deeper, longer sustaining tone; smaller bowls a brighter, quicker one. Store away from damp conditions, and wipe with a dry soft cloth after handling to prevent fingerprints marking the metal over time.
