Handmade Dream Catchers

There is a reason dream catchers have hung above beds for generations. Beyond the story they carry, they are simply beautiful objects, all texture and movement, catching the smallest breath of air through an open window. Our handmade dream catchers are crafted in Bali from natural materials, with woven webs, wooden beads and soft tassels in designs from delicate to dramatic. Hung above a bed, in a window or along a hallway, they bring gentle motion to still corners of the home.

Boho Dream Catchers Handwoven from Natural Materials in Bali

The dream catcher tradition began with the Ojibwe people of North America, where a woven web hung above a sleeping place was said to catch troubling dreams while letting good dreams drift through, and the form has since travelled the world as a symbol of protection and peaceful sleep. Our dream catchers are handwoven in Bali using natural rattan frames, cotton webs and wooden beads, with several designs using cotton leaf shapes rather than feathers, making them a considered choice for vegan homes. Sizes range from small 17cm pieces that suit a car mirror or nursery corner to large statement catchers over 50cm across that hold an entire bedroom wall. The classic placement remains above the bed head, though a dream catcher in a window brings the added pleasure of movement in the breeze, and a grouping of two or three at varied heights makes a beautiful alternative to wall art in a hallway. Being handwoven from natural materials, each piece varies slightly, and care is as simple as an occasional gentle shake and a light dusting.
