Healing Gongs

There are sounds you hear and sounds you feel, and a gong belongs firmly to the second kind. Our healing gongs arrive mounted on their own wooden stands, ready to play from the moment they are unwrapped. Struck gently with a padded mallet, they produce a deep wash of sound that fills a room in a way even our largest singing bowls cannot quite reach. For sound practice, meditation or simply the pleasure of the tone, this is where depth lives.

Meditation Gongs on Stands for Sound Healing at Home

The gong is one of the oldest instruments still in continuous use, with a history stretching across China, Tibet and Southeast Asia, where its deep resonance has marked meditation, ceremony and the passage of time for well over a thousand years. In modern sound practice the gong plays a different role from the singing bowl. Where a bowl produces a focused, sustained tone, a gong creates a broad wash of overlapping frequencies that practitioners describe as a sound bath in the most literal sense. Our healing gongs come complete with a wooden stand and mallet, in sizes from compact 25cm table gongs upward, so nothing extra is needed to begin. To play, strike the gong softly just off centre with the padded mallet and let the sound bloom fully before striking again, as the quietest strikes often produce the richest tones. A gong on its stand suits a meditation corner, yoga space or shelf, pairing naturally with our Tibetan singing bowls and incense burners in a complete practice setup. Care is minimal, with an occasional wipe from a soft dry cloth keeping the surface at its best.
